We had a fabulous Fourth of July weekend including; BBQ at our house, 4th of July Parade, kiddie parade in our neighborhood, BBQ at a neighbors house and a potluck at our house following a boys trip on the Portland BrewBus. Whew!
The kids were both exhausted and slept in every day this week. To me, that's a sign of summer. Staying up a little bit late and sleeping in. Awe - I remember those days.
Eva rode in the Ridgefield kids parad in a Wagon with Brody. They were such a cute pair. Austin and Elena rode together too. Lila and Ryan rode their bikes.
Here is our little bike riders (Lila and Ryan).

Eva getting ready to ride her bike during our neighborhood parade.
The race, I mean, parade start!
And they are off...oh except Eva. Poor thing, the parade that was to run around our neighborhood block turned into a little more of a race. There was a start line and everyone took off except Eva who sat unknowingly in the middle of the street. I had to snap this photo and then run into the street to get her going. Love the innocence of it all.
Eva made a new friend over the weekend. Our neighbors' daughter Ellie was so wonderful helping Eva and playing with her all afternoon. She helped Eva swing, play with toys and basically be a big kid (without Mom hanging around too much). It was awesome! Ellie was such a great little mother's helper it has me thinking. Actually we have 4 girls in our neighborhood who are 9 right now who are amazingly helpful with our kids. I need to tap into this resource!
Awe!
