Solo Trip to Palm Springs

One day this winter Stacey texted me a casual message wishing we could go to Palm Springs next week. The weather in Chicago this year has been brutal and anytime I can get some vitamin D in the winter is a good thing for me! Within 48 hours we had the blessings of both Scott's, our work schedule worked out and tickets booked for a last minute trip to sunny Palm Springs. Yay!

Pool time, spa time, hot weather radiating our skin and most important girl time. We spent a lot of time talking about babies this trip...Stacey is pregnant with a baby girl due in August!

We stayed at the Hard Rock hotel in downtown Palm Springs. Taylor Swifts' life-size picture is on the wall in the women's restroom and I knew the girls would love it.

Winter Trip to Idaho

We made our annual winter trek up to Sandpoint, Idaho to visit Scott's parents. It is always so much fun and a relaxing getaway. I especially like the pace when we're up there. This year Eva officially learned to ski by herself and even led Poppy, Scott, Lila and I down the bunny slope at Schweitzer one time. She loved being the leader among this pack. Lila continued to improve her skiing and my only hope after watching the winder olympics this year is that she does not become a downhill ski racer. Yikes! We also went on a sleigh ride at Western Pleasure Ranch. And last but not least Scott and I made it to the Lucky Lab brewpub not once, not twice but three times!

Eva's Birthday Party

We have one lucky cowgirl to have so many fantastic friends. Many of Eva's friends she has gone to school together with at Goddard for years, some even her whole life. Several of her friends are my friends kiddos who she has known since the day they were born. It's worked out perfectly that we all had kids the same year!

Eva's 5th birthday was at Cantera Equestrian Center in Camas. The day was super sunshiny for March for which we are all grateful!

The boots below belong to Poppy, Amma, Eva, Lila and Grandpa.

Eva got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her friend David. Super sweet!

We are so proud of the girls and who they are both becoming. I feel so fortunate to be their mom!

Happy Birthday Eva!

Our baby turned 5 last week. Here are some photos from her actual birthday, March 20th. We celebrated with Scott's parents and his uncle and had salmon by request from the birthday girl. After dinner she got to opened her presents where you can see she got a sparkly cowgirl belt from Poppy and Amma and twenty one-dollar bills from Uncle Bryan among other things. What a lucky girl!
