Happy 4th Birthday Eva

Little Miss Eva turned four today! She told me that she is a big girl and no longer a toddler. Yep!

When I put her to bed she said to to me, "Mommy, mommy can I tell you a secret?" And then whispering, "Now that I'm a big girl I'm not going to get out of bed. I'm going to just sleep and sleep and sleep."

Petunia's

We visited the gluten free and vegan bakery Petunia's in Portland this weekend. My parents were in town and we were exploring Portland. Eva choose the Cookie Monster cupcake (hence the photo). I had an amazing cookie stuffed with chocolate ganache. Everything was delicious!

BatGirl

Lila was invited to her friend Jackson's birthday party last week. She was the only girl from her kindergarten class invited to a superhero party. ;) Of course she wanted to go and she insisted on being BatGirl.

Umbrella Girls

Eva had a super fun play date with her friend Lillia last week. We went to Kids Club in Vancouver and played, and played and played. The girls both had cute umbrellas to use on their way to their respective cars. I love little girls and their umbrellas. So precious!

Artwork Only a Mom Can Love this Much

Translation: March comes like a lion and ends like a sheep.

Things have been a little busy around our house. Scott has been working what seems like 23 hours a day preparing for a trial and I've been working, shuttling kids around and trying to slap dinner on the table. This weekend ended with Eva vomiting at a friends house and the two of us leaving while Lila stayed for dinner.

Now, Lila is asleep upstairs. Eva is asleep next to me on the couch and the house is calm. I just noticed this artwork from Lila. She made it herself, hung it on our art wall and never said a thing. It's so precious! She is such a little learner reading and writing everything.

Lets hope that March goes out like a lamb!

Puzzle Perfect

It's been a long day at our house for no other reason that we were getting a bunch of things done. Tonight all by herself Eva got out the dog puzzle and put the whole thing together. There is a god! She quietly and diligently worked on this by herself. She is such a little engineer.

Lila's First School Dance

Dorothy Fox held their annual school dance tonight and weeks ago Lila informed us that she would be going. Today Eva also explained that she would be going and she also proceeded to show me which dress out if her closet she wanted to wear. I love that my girls know what they want!

The dance was a lot of fun. The kids danced and danced. Eva danced too! Lila connected with her best girlfriends from kindergarten (Molly, Elisa and Bethany) and they ran around and around the gym holding hands.

To sum it up; It was loud, there was a lot of sugar and the DJ encouraged participation (parents too). A magical combo for an elementary school dance.

At the end if the dance Lila had bubbles on her head!
