Wedding

The boys. Enough said right? We went to a wedding of one of Scott's friends from growing up...Ryan Miletich. Ryan and Scott grew up in the same neighborhood. This photo is of Scott and his fraternity buddies.

Alphabet Magnets

Alphabet magnets...a timeless toy.

Me and the Girls ~ Eva's 8 Months Old

Eva turned eight months old on Friday. I really don't know where the weeks and months are going. She's going to be a year old before we know it. Eva showed us last week that she can pull herself up on the bathtub. She did it in order to see Lila who was in the tub. I keep thinking she's going to start crawling...any day now.

Lila's New Shoes

Lila was trying on some of my shoes the other day.
I think she walked in the heels better than I do!

They are a little bit big...

Quoting Lila

Today while driving on I-5 we got stuck in a traffic jam. We were going all of about 1 mile per hour. Scott and I were talking about how there must have been a 'car accident'. Lila started talking about 'poopy' but we were having difficulty understanding what she was saying. Meanwhile Scott and I are exchanging looks thinking oh my god what are we going to do if she has to go to the bathroom in the middle of this traffic jam? Then suddenly Lila says clearly "The car go poo-poo on the street? That's a no-no." Scott and I both sighed with relief and laughed hysterically. Of course...Car...Accident in a two year old's mind mean's something completely different that 'car accident'.

Beautiful Fall Day

Lila's (borrowed) Kitchen

In the mind of a two year old little girl there is NOTHING better than having your very own kitchen. Lila was fortunate enough to borrow a kitchen for several years from one of our neighbors who has grown out of this phase. Thanks Annie! We'll take good care of the kitchen we promise!
Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen? We have plans to reformat the layout of our guest room so that it is half playroom and half guest room to accommodate both needs in our little house.

Lila striking a pose!

Getting busy in the kitchen. One of her favorite things to say these days is "I'm busy, busy, busy..." And that's 100% true. This kitchen might be the ticket to all of us surviving the gloomy, raining weather.
So excited to find a new/borrowed kitchen at her house. I video taped the unveiling of the kitchen and will get it uploaded later this week.

At the park...

We had a break in the weather today and were able to get outside and enjoy the fall day. Here both girls are swinging at Esther Short Park in Vancouver. Thank god I brought my car shammie to dry everything off. It's going to be my new 'go to' item this winter I'm afraid.

A few Catch Up Photos

Catching up on a few photos I forgot to post recently.

Here is a photo of my favorite little grocery shopper Lila. On Wednesdays we go grocery shopping and now that our routine is in place we have  GREAT time. Lila, Eva and I try and get to the store first thing in the morning which means were usually some of the only people there. Both of the girls do a great job but Lila actually helps find things on the shelves, unload groceries, bag groceries, etc. It's great fun, really!

And on Fridays we try and have a lot of fun. In this photo Lila and Eva are riding the Portland Streetcar. We often make up excuses to ride the train just for the fun of it ~ Lila loves the train. I've really been enjoying my time at home with the girls now that I'm only working 3 days per week. It's such precious time because they are growing so darn fast.

Hiking in Portland

We explored Tryon Creek State Park in Portland on Sunday. It was a fun hike and we were even able to let Lila run around on her own. The dogs joined us too!

Halloween

Lila knocking on her first door for trick or treating 2009. This is our neighbor's house!

Our little Dorothy the Dinosaur. Lila is using my old trick or treating bag...I better make my girls their own bags before next year when Eva starts trick or treating.
Lila and Scott leaving a house in our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is fabulous for our little Dinosaur because we just walked around one block. Lila's little bag was so full it was actually heavy but Miss Independent refused to let us carry anything for her.

Almost more than getting candy Lila loved giving the candy out. After going around the block we returned to our house to hand out candy. We had a little pause in the action and Lila kept asking for "more trick or treaters". Next thing I know the door bell rings, Lila opens it and Scott and Eva are at our door. They snuck out of the house through the garage so that Lila would have more visitors. So clever!!!

Waiting for more visitors.

Eva, our little Butterfly.

Eva gets into the candy and she LOVED it. Well, she enjoyed playing with it. Maybe next year she can have her first taste of chocolate?
