Bloody Mess
We went to Bend this weekend to our friends Jon and Mary's. While at a school carnival Lila got seriously bumped by another dad accidentally and the impact tossed her under a table and left her with a massive bloodly nose. I gasped loudly when I saw this and grabbed Lila out from under the table. I had to use her dress to pinch her nose and stop the bleeding. It was really messy (on her coat, dress, Scott's hanky and my coat). Poor thing!
Bend was so much fun as always.

Money, money, money!
Eva has been torturing Scott and I for years with her bedtime conundrums. We have been at our wits end! On Wednesday we set up a chart to motivate her and what motivates our four year old? Money. Yep, not candy or toys. She is Scott's daughter. She has gone to bed perfectly three nights in a row so this morning she got a super bonus ($$$). If she can make it 7 nights in a row she gets to take the whole family out to dinner with her earnings (her choice).
Here is a picture of Miss Eva with her money and her bunny purse.

Our First Baby is 10; Happy Birthday Parker Lou!
Ten years ago today the magnificent Parker Lou was born! I still remember vividly when we met Parker he looked at us and maneuvered his tubby little body away from us to explore. He has been independent since the day he was born and remains that way today. He is one big, lovable dude and continues to be a fetching maniac! We are so lucky to have this guy in our life and grateful he remains youthful for the most part.
The girls have a surprise birthday party planned later today with the neighbor boys. Don't tell Parker!

Lila The Amazing Reader
Lila is a reading machine! Her reading has taken off exponentially to the point where this week she picked up a chapter book (Junie B. Jones) and started reading it on her own. This is the first chapter book that she has read on her own. Within one day she had read 5 chapters.
Here in this picture she is happily showing off her new reading skills to her friends Hailey and Taryn.
She is not afraid of any word big or small and carefully sounds out the words. I'm so impressed with her tenacity towards reading and hope it continues.
