Quoting Lila

After a fun filled evening with the Newcombe's we got another laugh from Lila on our way home. She said in her tired list making voice, "When we get home I'm going to go potty, brush my teeth, skip story time and go to bed, okay?"

Playhouse!

My parents were down this weekend and my dad finished the playhouse by adding the front door. Scott and I will be painting the playhouse to match our house just as soon as we get some dry weather. Perhaps June?

Tonight as we were putting the kids to bed they were admiring the playhouse from their second story bedroom window. Eva said with great excitement, "Grandpa made it!" Yes he did. We are so lucky to have a custom built playhouse and look forward to posting many future photos of the playhouse in use.

Curly Sue

Lila's hair is growing! Look at those curls. Several people have commented about how it's growing every time they see her and it is.

Potty Time

Our newest little potty girl. Eva's is learning to use the big girl potty at school and at home. With any luck we'll have her in panties by the end of the summer.

Brown Bears

Lila is playing outdoor soccer this spring on a team called the Brown Bears. She and 8 other 3-4 year olds practice once per week and play games on Saturdays. In her first game on Saturday they played 3 on 3 soccer. Lila loved getting out on the field and was happy to sub in and out throughout the game. She had happy feet jumping up and down a lot doing a little jig on the soccer field. Dancer or soccer player? TBD. :) We loved watching her play and especially loved her great attitude on the field and cheering for her teammates.

Lila's fan club included; Eva, Scott, me, Nana and Grandpa. No pressure at all!

Scott's Birthday

March is a month of Birthday's for us. Knowing that by the time Scott's birthday rolled around on March 23rd we celebrated just the way he wanted...Papa Murphy's Pizza. A family favorite. The girls loved helping Scott blow out the candles on his pizza.

Eva's Birthday Party

We celebrated Eva's birthday March 19th with friends and family at our house. Eva loved, loved, loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her. She continues to sing happy birthday to people and objects in her daily life. As an example last week she sang happy birthday to ketchup which was sitting on the dining room table.

She is growing taller though her little body is still tiny. She weighs 22 pounds at 2 years which puts her at 2% on the growth chart. Honestly, I was relieved that she was on the chart knowing that her weight was pretty low. It's ironic though because she's been growing out of some clothes lately including her length-wise out of her fuzzy zippy zoo's (jammies).

Quoting Lila

Lila says to Scott tonight, "Hey dad do you know what your shirt matches?" Scott, "No, what?" Lila in a boldly joking voice says, "The curtains!" Scott and I laughed out loud. She was right that Scott's chocolate brown shirt matches the curtain that covers our kitchen sink. That said, I'm not sure who should be offended...me for my curtain choice or Scott for his shirt choice. Either way Lila thought she was really funny! Kids.
