Christmas Eve

The VIP table at Christmas Eve!

Lila and Thad have this same photo taken every year since they were babies. Now they are two so we're going on year three of the photo with their twin doggies.

A visit from Auntie Linda

Aunt Linda has been spoiling the girls with lots of love and attention. Lila had her cooking in her play kitchen within 5 minutes of her arrival. And as you can see from the photo below Eva is very comfy with her too.

Uncle Bryan was here too but managed to stay out of the view of the camera. Next time!

Decorating Christmas Cookies

Lila and two of her friends from school decorated Christmas cookies. It was really fun and not as messy as you would think. Lila, Hailey and Taryn each had their own decorating style...it was funny to see their personalities come out through their art.

Eva is 9 Months Old Today!

Really, where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were waiting for the arrival of Miss Eva Katelyn and now she's 9 months old. She'll be a year before we know it. Eva is really starting to move around, not crawling, but goes wherever she wants (and we don't want). She's been pulling herself up on things too as you can see from the photo below. Her happy and easy personality make her so delightful and we hear from everyone...'She's the happiest baby'. Awe - we think so too.
Poor thing has been sick lately. First she had a cold that lasted nearly two weeks and now she has a touch of the flu that has been going around the nursery at school. Still happy but messy too! Here's to a better week - we don't want to be home-bound for the holidays!

Quoting Lila

Lila in her infinite wisdom says to me recently, "Mama, Dada put me down and school and you pick me up?" The English language is so confusing. Me, "No, no Lila it's 'drop you off'". Now boy doesn't that sound funny. Drop you off....who thought of that?

Breakfast with Santa

It's the Shrum's! We did a photo with the Shrum's, not including the 'out-laws' (Mom, Katie and Scott). In this photo left to right, Morgen, me, Eva, Great Grandma Shrum (GG), Hannah, Tony, Lila and Grandpa Shrum.
Eva loves Santa!
This is the best photo of our kids with Santa. We had to relocate Santa from his chair to get Lila even close to him and then this is as good as it gets.

The Christmas Spirit

Lila's school had a food drive this week. This is a photo of Lila taking non-perishable food to The Goddard School. She enjoyed unloading her canned food, can by can, into the brown donation boxes.

Christmas Picture?

I tried to get a picture of the girls recently for our Christmas card. To be honest, I've been trying to get a photo of the girls for the past month where they are both smiling, at the same time, in cute, clean clothes and without clutter in the background (such as shoes, dishes, etc.). It's been impossible! Here are photos from when I set them in front of the Christmas tree for a little photo session. These are NOT the final product. In fact the final photos for our Christmas card includes photos of the girls but they are not together. Coming to a mailbox near you...!
Eva playing with the ornaments on the Christmas tree.
Lila and Eva, not facing the camera but instead playing with the ornaments. I guess it's kind of cute.

Lila Dresses Up

I recently showed Lila a drawer that has dress-up clothes in it and she went bananas! In a matter of minutes she had nearly everything in that drawer on. I love being the mom of girls.

Eva's Third Word...

We've had the dogs inside a lot lately with the cold weather and Eva LOVES Parker and Sampson. She is now saying Da...for Dog. She gets really, really excited to see the dogs and loves to pet them. Her third word is Dog.

We found our Christmas Tree

Eva and I among all of the tree's at Thorton's Tree Farm.

We found our tree!
Lila helping Scott cut it down.

Here is our tree again...Lila was really getting into the Christmas spirit and loved, loved, loved decorating the tree.

When I was growing up Tony and I each had our very own ornaments and our own ornament bag. My mom sets the standards high! I actually still have my bag but my ornament collection has far surpassed the bag.

I got out my sewing machine and made Lila and Eva their own bags. Their ornament collection is growing daily which is really fun.

Here is Eva with her ornament bag.

And Lila with hers.

And finally, Elf on a Shelf. This little Elf visits our house on a daily basis and then at night goes home to the North Pole each night to report to Santa if Lila has been Naughty or Nice. It's great! Lila has the utmost respect for 'Mr. Elf'. :)

Thanksgiving Art by Eva

Eva made this turkey at school...isn't it cute? I just love it but can't take any credit for it!
