Our Day...Happy Birthday Eva!
Today was Eva's Birthday...she's ONE! We had a great day as you will see. We headed out the door at 7:30am to make it to Slappy Cakes restaurant in Portland by 8:00am. Slappy Cakes lets you cook your own pancakes right at your table. They were delicious and we all had a GREAT time. Then we were off to the park where the birthday girl took her morning nap and Lila played and let us take pictures of her. Then to the Farmers Market and downtown Portland. A perfect day in my book!
No doubt that Eva is tough...she's a second child and since the day she came home has been roughed up by Lila. Today I set her down for ONE second on our new patio and she proceeded to scoot like only Eva can and ruined her new tights. Thankfully her knee was just fine and she thought nothing of it.
Eva got a swing for her birthday and she loves it. We installed in on our back patio so she is right in the action in the backyard.

Burgerville
Eva enjoyed her first Burgerville Burger today. She put several bites in her mouth at one time and attempted to stuff her cheeks with more food (kind of like a chipmunk). I had to stop her from over stuffing her mouth with the yummy burger. Needless to say, like the rest of her family, Eva loves Burgerville. And yes, she had a few french fries too.
*Burgerville uses all natural beef and is mmm...mmm good for those who aren't familiar.

Top 10 List
Lila has a stomach bug and has been home all week with the exception of Tuesday. Today it was just Lila and I at home so we tried to keep busy (and maintain some sort of work production).
Ten Activities to keep a Sick Toddler Busy at Home
1. Paint Toe Nails and Finger Nails
2. Yoga
3. Teach her to Vacuum
4. Play with the Dogs
5. Conduct a Photo Shoot
6. Eat Otter Pops (Pedialyte Otter Pops)
7. Work ~ I worked and Lila got her Laptop out too!
8. Make Jello (with Bananas ~ she's on the Bananas, Apple Sauce, Rice and Toast Diet)
9. Remove Finger Nail Polish (it chipped and she about threw a fit so we took it off...all girl!)
10. And of course take a nap!

Fun Family Weekend - Eva's Birthday
Palm Springs
I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Palm Springs for a couple of days of relaxing in the sun, hiking and of course the spa. I LOVE Palm Springs. I went with my business partner Stacey from Chicago.
Here are some photos of our hike...the trail crossed over the river 10-15 times during the 2 hour hike. It was a fun challenge to make sure we didn't fall in!
Chaos in the Kitchen
I just added this site to my favorite things but wanted to point it out here too. I love this site for great cooking ideas. The author has little one's too so her ideas are clever AND the food is yummy. I've made several things from her site...tonight Posole from Sept 2009.
We're a little under the weather here and some yummy chicken soup will be good for us all. If you know me at all you know that I always edit every recipe that I use...so it's chicken Posole and minus some of the extra spices so that the kids will eat it.
