Idaho Photos

Our time in Idaho was full of fun activities and I couldn't resist posting more photos from our trip. There were a total of 9 of us staying at Irv and Michele's and Lisa and Joe staying in a house near by. A total of 14 family members and we had a blast! 

Michele hosted us each night with an amazing spread of food. As you can imagine with Lila's diet we're not the easiest house guests. I left with new ideas and inspiration and I'm sincerely grateful. Thank you Michele!

Cam and Sophie, Scott's cousin's from Phoenix. Hands down the best toddler entertainers ever. The moment they arrived our kids were kept entertained and 100% overjoyed playing with and hanging with Sophie and Cam. Lila actually got to share a room with Sophie and several nights in a row Sophie put her to sleep. 

Lila wasn't committed to being included in the photo (and wasn't committed to being out of it either!).

Cousin's Lila and Chloe (3 in March). Aren't they cute? This is the first time that they have actually played (vs just being around each other) together and they had a great time.

Lila and Scott "Date Night"

A year ago Scott heard about a Valentines' Dad and Daughter dance and he's been patiently waiting to take Lila ever since. He even organized a double date with Alan, Hailey and Taryn. All 5 of them had a blast dancing and playing. Alan ordered corsages for all of the girls...so cute!

PS Wendy and I were stuck with the huge responsibility of watching Eva (ha she's so easy) and drinking wine. We had a great time too!

Ballet

Lila started ballet class a couple of weeks ago with her friends Hailey and Taryn. Every day after school Lila asks, "Is today ballet day?"

Idaho

We made it to Idaho for a family vacation. Thirty minutes after we left the house I realized that I mistakenly forgot my iPhone. Yikes! I never leave the house without phone let alone for 8 days. I contemplated having a neighbor FedEx my phone and then changed my mind and figured it was a sign that perhaps I should try and check out a little bit more than normal. Not to say I have checked out completely from technology but I don't have a phone with me all of the time.

On Tuesday Lila took her first ski lesson at Schweitzer. Poppy lined her up with a fantastic ski instructor who was patient and super encouraging, Lila did great. It was certainly a highlight for me watching Lila at the beginning of her lesson stand at the top of a little hill, her instructor at the bottom, and make her first run down a hill. It brought tears to my eyes as she successfully tackled it. Apparently during the lesson she kept telling her instructor that she wanted to go on the little chairlift and then the big chairlift. Meanwhile she stayed on the Magic Carpet the whole time yet had big goals to graduate to the next level.  I love these little personality insights at 3 1/2.

Today she took another lesson with the same instructor who was brave enough to take Lila all the way down the bunny slope. Lila loved it. I think she was scared yet had a blast! She especially enjoyed riding the chairlift back up. After lunch Lila wanted to go skiing again so Scott took her down the bunny slope. Together they were really, really good. Lila is learning to make a "pizza" and stop on her own as well as put her skis straight like a "french fry". Later Poppy took her skiing several times on the Magic Carpet slope and Lila didn't want to stop she was having so much fun. Finally at 2:30 we called it a day as everyone else was getting tired. This was a HUGE success all around! I believe I see more skiing in our future.

Uh Oh Peanut Butter

Lila comes home from school signing songs I've never heard. This morning she was singing this cute song about Peanut Butter. 

Quoting Lila

Lila recently said that she wants to be a nurse. I asked her what nurses do and why she wants to be a nurse...her response, "Nurses give people shots and I want to give people shots". I'm not totally sure where this motivation comes from? Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing but she was 100% serious.

Adventures with Lila

The words that go along with this photo are "Look Mom!" and "Mom I need some help!". Kids are so funny. Unrolling an entire roll of toilet paper never gets boring.

We came up with a strategy to make mini-pizzas on Friday. Here Lila is helping make dinner. She just loves helping and wants to help whenever she can.

Oh and she insisted on wearing her cinderella dress everywhere on Friday. I was okay with this as a was for her to express herself although we went to Fred Meyer/Grocery Store and I had totally forgot she was even wearing it until I started to get looks from other customers. Mostly "awe isn't that cute" looks though I was thinking the whole time I hope my little princess doesn't act up in the store or those looks will quickly turn to something else.

Eva's Second Haircut

Eva had her second haircut last week (22 months). Her hair was growing much longer in the back than on the sides so we had it trimmed up. She was remarkably calm and collected during her haircut. The stylist was incredibly fast too so the whole thing took 10 minutes. Success!

Playdough

The kids both enjoyed separate, quiet activities tonight which rarely, rarely happens. Lila played in the playroom with legos and Eva got to play with Playdough for the first time at home. With Lila's allergies we don't play with Playdough (wheat based) but since they were playing separately she was able to play. Eva LOVED the Playdough. She played quietly for 30 minutes while I cleaned up the kitchen. Ahhh...
