Well, its just me and the girls for the duration of this week.
Scott is in trial now and we were lucky enough last week to have visit from Ama McGeachy (Michele). She had no idea what she was in for! Lila got Strep throat the day after she showed up which turned into Scarlet Fever (a sunburn looking, very itchy rash). Lila's rash was from head to toe and remains today. So, Lila and Ama spent Tuesday and Wednesday doing lots and lots of art projects. Thank you so much Michele for all of your help and company last week. We could not have survived without you.
Over the weekend we went to my parents house for Forrest Festival. I have not been to Shelton for the festival since I graduated 15 years ago. Lila participated in her first ever run which was 1/4 of a mile. She did GREAT. Her oldest cousin Hannah ran with her (and me too). She smiled and ran the whole way making sure that her princess headband didn't fall out of her hair. Pictures to come later. Then we watched the parade which is always a good time. My parents were nice enough to take the girls home for naptime while I met up with a lifelong friend (Denise) for coffee. That night we celebrated Lila's 3rd birthday with my family (GG, Grandpa, Nana, Aunt Katie, Uncle Tony, Hannah and Morgen). We had a delicious dinner, cake and presents. Lila was a little overwhelmed with the day and was acting out which apparently my brother found amusing and somewhat of a relief. As if my kids have been perfect up until then? OR As if his kids have misbehaved?
Now we're home...the girls and I...Scott is at work for the 28th day in a row.
In humorous news...
Eva has really become a crack up! She finds great joy in tormenting Lila but grabbing things and scooting away quickly. Apparently while my mom was watching them she grabbed a toy, took off scooting into the kitchen and Lila came up from behind and tackled her. Honestly, it is really funny to hear that kind of stuff. Sisters. It's not so much fun to witness and feel like you have to intervene but funny to hear about.
