There is just something about putting your feet in the warm sand and wind blowing through your hair. Maybe it's just me...I love it and need to recharge my batteries every once in a while with a trip to the beach. On Saturday we took a day trip to the beach which worked out great. We left our house at 7:45 and were in Cannon Beach at 9:45. We spent much of the time digging and playing in the sand and headed home around 2 just in time for the girls to take a much needed nap in the car.
We got a new car earlier in the Spring, a Toyota Prius, and it's such a fabulous car for trips like this. Comfy, practical and gets 49 miles per gallon!
At Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach with the tide out there is so much to explore. Here we got up close with some Starfish...so close that we all got to touch them. Not as squishy as you would think...kind of hard feeling actually.
I don't know how Eva stayed as clean as she did with all of this sand playing, mud making, etc. She did manage to squat down so low that her tush ended up getting wet at which point she promptly started removing her clothes (yes, right on the beach!).
Okay she finally got dirty. Before this she was playing in the sand but not 'in' the sand. Both girls required a hefty bath upon arriving at home. And, my car got a good vacuuming too!
