ABC Gum

Eva has been a handful lately. It's funny because people always tell us, "Eva is so sweet". This is true although Scott and I laugh each time we hear this because she is 95% sweet and 5% not so sweet. We sometimes refer to her as "Eva the Destroyer" because she can make a mess of a perfectly clean room or bookshelf in a matter of seconds. Lately she has been 5% sweet and 95% well...not so sweet. Part of me wonders if it's because the sun is out longer and she has not been getting as much sleep. Another part of me believes that she's going through one those dreaded phases. Either way I look forward to the 95%/5% flip-flopping back to normal.

This weekend we were at my parents house celebrating my dad's 60th birthday. With lots of people around at my parents house we didn't have the normal level of attention on Eva. She snuck away a couple of times and got herself into trouble. At one point she came back to the group chewing gum. She even said she was chewing gum...chomp, chomp. Of course she's never had gum so this is the first piece she's ever had. My mom and I could not figure out where she would have gotten gum. Ewe...under a table? No. From the bottom of someone's shoe? No. The only thing we could figure out is that she got it out of the trash from the girls room. Ewe, yes. Although not as bad as the other two options. We can assume that Hannah or Morgen chewed it first and then Eva found it in the trash.

There you have it, Eva's first piece of gum was ABC gum.

This morning while visiting my Grandma Shrum (GG) she said about Eva while laughing, "She sure is a handful!" If GG is saying she's a handful...she's a handful. We look forward to this phase passing.
